Welcome to the Breaking Blog. I am Dan Schreiber, a journalist at The Chronicle newspaper in Centralia, Washington. Follow my posts as I cover the news and discover the novelties in America’s volcano country. Most of these posts are added via iPhone at the scene of breaking news, but if I see something of note on the way, it will also become fodder for the blog. (If journalism were a daily stage performance, it would be a comedy on most days, not a tragedy, contrary to popular belief).
